When my kid throws tantrums I honestly feel like crap. I mean, when he wants something and throws one I can handle it – I won’t give in simple as that – but the LOOKS I get from other people in the stores really tick me off. Like I am highly abusing this child by not giving him a freaking Spiderman toy.
Tantrums caused by lack of sleep are a whole ‘nother ball game. I know he still needs a nap during the day, but I’ve never forced the issue on him, so when 6 o’clock rolls around and the tantrums begin I feel awful because all this kid wants, wel, NEEDS is sleep! I need to figure out how to get him to bed – to sleep – earlier. Right now his “bedtime” is roughly 9 o’clock – meaning on a normal night he gets a bath at around 8:30pm – then a 20 minute bath and then by 9 he’s in bed being read to. We need to up that by maybe an hour when he doesn’t have a nap. But how?
