Yesterday – my husband and I cut up most of our credit cards. Well – hubby cut all of his and I cut a few of mine keeping a few “safe” (including Old Navy and Discover). I kept those two cards because the Discover card took me awhile to get, has a “low” interest rate and has a great rewards program. The Old Navy card gives me points and allows me to save money when I shop their 20% off the “bag” sale.
On Thursday I went for a job interview at a local website optimization / SEO company in hopes of being hired for their Social Media manager job. The interview went well (I believe) but I will not hear if I got the job until Tuesday. *crosses fingers*
Also on Thursday some of the girls and I got together for a coupon swap! Only 4 of us were there – so there are lots of “leftovers” … but I have a few more people I think I can share with. I’ve got my coupon binder in the “almost done” stage and I’m ready to save some money!
My husband just finished reading The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness by Dave Ramsey and found it to be a GREAT book on getting out of debt. I plan on reading it next and already have begun the introduction pages.
Alan (that would be my husband) blogged about this on his blog also – including a photo of our cut up cards! Go check it out!

That takes a lot of guts to cut up those cards. Since it’s impossible to have any real savings I worry that I’ll need one (or two) in case of an emergency. Paying for my daughter’s wedding is huge for us. We should have saved for it, but never thought it would happen this soon. This has really put us in a tight spot. But it’s so worth it!
