Why I Love Redbox

15 November 2009 4 Comments

If you are looking for a cheap date idea or just have a list of movies that you want to watch (that your hubby just doesn’t agree with) than you have to check out Redbox. You can find these video rental “boxes” in front of a bunch of different stores including Farmfresh, Wal-Mart and for military types the Commissary and Exchange (PX)!

Redbox movies are usually new releases – but now they include older movies like Varsity Blues and Forest Gump (two “new” releases in my local Box) and have lots of movies for kids like Dora Christmas Carol and Spongebob: Truth or Square. The best part is that movies are just $1 per night! So, you can try out a movie – think of something super cheesy or ‘just for fun’ that you’d never want to spend $5 for (like at those ‘other’ rental places) and go ahead and rent it!

I rented The Haunted Airman the other day (you know, with Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame) and while I thought it was an interesting movie – I was happy I only paid $1 to watch it.

So anyway – check out Redbox and see if there is one near you. It’s awesome. Also – when you visit their website go ahead and sign up for text messages. Once a month Redbox shoots out a text with a code good for a free movie rental!

I think Redbox is a very cool way to rent movies and I have heard that they always have new releases. Many grocery stores have Redbox machines in them now. Also, there are always coupon codes around the web for a free rental for a day.

I have to check around to see if we have something like this in my area. I have yet to see them but will look now. Love that it is reasonably priced.

BTW…I have been dying to see that movie.

I’ve seen those around but haven’t given them a try. I know my girls have used Red Box before.

Redbox or the library are the only ways we rent movies these days.
