One of my favorite kid shows on PBS is “Sid the Science Kid“! Sid was created by The Jim Henson Company in partnership with KCET and is a preschool series that uses comedy to embrace and celebrate the curiosity of its young viewers and encourages them to explore the opportunities for discovering the foundations of science in everyday occurrences, such as melting popsicles and sneezing.

The special Earth Day episode entitled “The Dirt on Dirt” and it follows Sid who wants to know what makes dirt so dirty! At school, Sid and his friends discover that dirt is really important to the Earth because it helps things grow, and it’s also filled with tiny rocks, pieces of leaves, and even living things like bugs and worms!

I got to watch a special screener with my son a few days ago and we both loved it! It’s a really interesting and captivating show – my four year old likes it a lot!

Earth Day is April 22nd and that’s when you will be able to watch this special episode! Check your local listings!
