Planting:
Now that you have all of your plants, the real fun (or work, depending on how you see it) begins. Check out Home Depot’s know-how section for great ideas on how to plant your flowers. It even has some great tips on which plants to select while shopping! Here, however, is how I did it (the idiot’s version): gather all the potted plants and bring them into your garden area (You may want to use a wheelbarrow, if you can, so you don’t have to make 100 trips. Plant Shopping
Now that you know what kinds of butterflies you want to attract, and what they like to eat, you can start planning your garden. Look at the plants you have chosen for butterfly attracters: how tall and/or large do they get? When do they bloom? How often? Are they annuals (bloom one season then die) or perennials (continue coming back every year)? What are their sun requirements? Do they have flowers, and if so what kind (Large, small, open, tube-shaped, clustered) and color? When creating any garden, you want …

Research, research, and more research!
Finding the right plants will have a huge impact on the success and ease of care for your butterfly garden. Butterflies need more than just pretty flowers. Puppets are fascinating to little ones. Creating their own puppets is easy, and it’s lots of fun. All you really need are some craft or popsicle sticks, construction paper, safety scissors, markers and glue.
Help your toddler cut animal shapes out of construction paper. He can draw faces and other details with washable markers. Glue the stick to the back of the shape, let dry, and he’s ready to put on a puppet show. If you want to make more elaborate puppets, try cutting shapes out of foam. Glue on a …

I went on a hunt today for some bigger size Swarovski crystal beads for a wine charm set I’m working on. I needed something to keep that charm from moving, so I picked up some at Michael’s – they are PRICEY! Jeebus! I grabbed just clear crystal ones, along with another set of gothy charms for another set. But I figured I would check Wal-Mart to see if they had some cheaper beads. Alas, all they had was clear/white – and I’m in need of dark red, red, purple and …

I learned something new just now – and I know I will get comments from my more crafty friends with “I coulda told ya that!” – but, rub-ons don’t work on candles.
Duh.
And, my handwriting SUCKS – so I guess buying a candle-writing pen is out of the question. So – ahem … no words on the candle I guess.
I now have a sheet of unused wedding rub ons. Perhaps I should start scrapping my OWN wedding stuff?
