My husband and I seem to be having a problem getting on the “same page” with our son. I picked up a copy of a great little book called “Sam Feels Better Now” written by author Jill Osborne (who’s blog can be found here!). I wanted to read it because it sounded like it could be used not only in a professional “counsiling” setting; but also could potentially be used by military families, the Chaplain and base psychologists when they are dealing with families where children have to deal with a parents deployment or military travel. I slept in this morning – until 10 o’clock even! I know, BAD MOMMY! But I was tired, and my 3 year old is USUALLY very good and just eats some breakfasty snacks (Granola bars, Nutrigrain bars) and plays in his room or watches some television. This morning, however, he dumped two toy boxes all over my living room and dining room. Which leads me to believe that he has too many toys at this point. Well, that and I shouldn’t sleep in, lol! When my kid throws tantrums I honestly feel like crap. I mean, when he wants something and throws one I can handle it – I won’t give in simple as that – but the LOOKS I get from other people in the stores really tick me off. Like I am highly abusing this child by not giving him a freaking Spiderman toy.
Tantrums caused by lack of sleep are a whole ‘nother ball game. I know he still needs a nap during the day, but I’ve never forced the issue on …
