Nursery Theme: Pink & Brown

I’ve been noticing that pink and brown themed baby rooms are incredibly popular right now (right along with pink and black). It’s not your “normal” baby girl color scheme! Searching pink and brown on sites like Amazon will bring thousands of cute pink and brown crib sets, clothes, accessories and anything else.

One cute crib set I found was the 9-Piece Baby Crib Bedding Set in Pink and Brown French Toile and Polka Dot by a company called JoJo Designs. It’s super girly but doesn’t scream “baby” to me. You can even find a matching polka dot and french toile diaper bag to go with your crib set!

Tis the Season for Cute Boots!

I Need Cyber Monday Specials

Personally, I hate going out shopping on Black Friday – I’d much rather stay in my own house, in my pajamas and shop online. Gotta Love Pink Wellies

Let me remind my readers that I have sever “baby fever” – I have my gorgeous four-year-old boy, but I’m praying for “pink” next time! Unfortunately, since I went back to school I decided that I didn’t want to get pregnant until I was closer to being finished – I get my Bachelor’s degree (computer information systems / web development) NEXT October. That’s a year from now – so I am fully allowed to drool over cute baby girl stuff! I use the excuse that two of my best friends have four girls between them. So I have plenty of girls I can buy stuff for! One of those little girls is a little shy of being one year old – so I get to buy BABY GIRL stuff too!

So, thanks to my friend Elina of Parent Reviewers I was introduced to an English company called Start-rite Shoes purveyors of some of the cutest kid shoes you will ever see. Start-rite has boys shoes, girls shoes, sneakers, wellies (“rain boots” for us “Yanks”), pre-walker shoes and even dressy shoes. Start-rite even has a ton of information about sizing those shoes, caring for shoes and also caring for those little-bitty feet!

Start-rite even has great developmental information on their website. So – even if you aren’t really looking to buy new shoes right now – this is definitely a website you should bookmark for later.

I mentioned earlier that my son is four – so he’s in pre school right now. He is currently learning how to tie his shoes and is being a little lazy about it. He prefers a pair of shoes that are slip on and insists on wearing those instead of his “tie” shoes. He does own a total of three pairs of sneakers (slip on, tie and velcro), a pair of snow boots (also velcro) and some ‘crocs’ that are in severe need of replacement!

Got Boogies?

In one of my “SWAG” bags from IzeaFest I received a sample of Boogie Wipes! Boogie Wipes are like wet wipes but are made with saline which dissolves the snots that love to stick to kids’ noses. Well – let me say that I tried them MYSELF during my flight home from the conference!

For some reason my allergies began acting up while my plane was landing in Atlanta. Of course I didn’t have any tissues – but I remember I had one solitary Boogie Wipe stuffed into my bag! I ripped it open and utilized it on my drippy nose.

First off – there was no burn like you get when you use regular wet wipes (because they are made with alcohol). Second it was strong and I was able to not only blow my nose with it, but also use it a couple times (yeah I know … gross … but should I have used my sleeve instead?).

The only thing that got to me was the fact it smelled like grape juice. Thankfully – they also have “menthol” and “fresh” scents in addition to the “grape” scent.

There are two ways Boogie Wipes come packaged. There is a package of wipes (similar to how baby wipes come packaged) and also individually wrapped wipes (this is what I had in my backpack). There is also a DIAPER CAKE option which would make a great gift for a new mama!

Need Beautiful Baby Announcements?

As a graphic designer, I can appreciate a beautifully made digital photo card. Since I have a huge case of the “baby rabies” (i.e. Baby FEVER) I can especially appreciate super gorgeous digital photo birth announcements like the ones found at CardsDirect.

The type of photo cards I love are simple … think black and white photo’s with a scrapbook feel to them. CardsDirect has some beautiful examples of “simple” cards, but also cards for any other “taste” – super girly, artsy, floral, etc.

I really liked the “Girl Monogram” birth announcement and also the “Baby’s Name Framed Out” birth announcement.

One thing that I didn’t particularly care for was that there was no “related” type links on the card pages. I know some people (myself included) like to get matching cards for things like the baby shower, announcement and thank you cards and there didn’t seem to be an easy way to find the “match” on the website.
